The Hope of Refuge: An Ada's House Novel by Cindy Woodsmall

Carrie Bradshaw -- in a Bonnet? - ABC News

The Hope of Refuge by Cindy Woodsmall is a wonderful story of a young, widow and mother who is orphaned as a young girl and must survive the hardships of life without family... until she comes across a message from her mother that leads her to the Amish Community. When she arrives there, she is thought to be a drunk and a thief, but will the community turn her away? Will anyone come to help her as she seeks a place of refuge for her daughter and herself? Will the connection to the past be good or bad and will anyone welcome her?

This story of hardships and help, fear and courage shows us that God can work all things for good even when it seems there is no hope. It also shows us that what may look one way on first glance, isn't always true... and even Christians can be mistaken.
