God Gave Us Love/ God Gave Us Christmas by Lisa Tawn Bergren

I just read this sweet little book, God Gave Us Love, to my 3 year old daughter. She sat still and listened to the whole thing!! That says a lot about this book. If you have a 3 year old (or know one), then you know how busy and active they can be.

Lisa Tawn Bergren spins a sweetly innocent story about Love...loving others, mama and papa love and God's love. While I don't think that my 3 year old understand everything, I do think she enjoyed the story as well as the pictures. I really feel that some of the information given is several years too old for the 3-5 age group, but it does plant a seed that the child will come back to in the future.

As soon as I finished the first book about God's love, my little girl asked me to read God Gave Us Christmas by Lisa Tawn Bergren. That's really amazing! Usually, this little girl is up and moving constantly (except nap times!). Again, she sat through the reading and quietly listened. I love the way Mama Bear takes the time to show God to Little Cub... and the way she does. Then, she brings it all back to God Gave Us Christmas! It's a lovely story with a beautiful pictures and an even better meaning.
