I had never heard of Jeremy Riddle before and when I said yes to reviewing his CD it was with some hesitancy. I would hate to receive a CD that I couldn't stand the sound of and then have to do a review. Thankfully, Jeremy had me from the first track-- Fall Fresh.
"Awaken my soul, come awake,
To hunger, to seek, to thirst.
Awaken first love, come awake,
And do as you did at first.
Spirit of the Living God,
Come fall fresh on me,
Come awaken me from my sleep.
Blow through the caverns of my soul,
Holy, to overflow. To overflow.
Yes, Spirit, come and fill this place.
Let your glory now invade.
Spirit, come and fill this place.
Let your glory now invade.
Spirit of the Living God,
Come fall fresh on me,
Come wake me from my sleep.
Blow through the caverns of my soul,
Pour in me to overflow. "
(disclaimer: Lyrics could be wrong... I didn't get them from a website, I listened to the CD and wrote them down while listening.)
What a beautiful way to start a worship CD. Wow. I can't say enough good about this CD! Fall Fresh is a very soulful, pleading, fall-on-your-face-before-the-Lord song that just brings you right to the presence of God. Don't get me wrong, it's not a slow-paced music that Jeremy presents, it's a beautiful mix reminiscent of U2 at times.
This is a great album to get your worship started no matter what age you are!
