My Thoughts:
The first thing that drew me to this book was the Quilt theme. I love quilts, quilting, and just perusing quilt shops/fairs/etc. So, I requested this book (and another one) to review on the basis of the quilt on the front of it (and being part of the Quilts of Love series). Much to my HAPPY surprise, it is a suspense/mystery novel!!
Scraps of Evidence is a good read. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes suspense/mystery and wants something that is clean and wholesome. It was a little predictable... I *thought* I knew "whodunnit" from the beginning, but wasn't 100% and the journey to the knowing was worth sticking to it.
The only thing I didn't like about the book was: The description on the back cover. Normally, I don't read the back cover of the book after I have it in my house... I just read the book. For some reason, I decided to read the back of the book. BIG mistake. Big. I do not believe the description on the back matches the story very well and, as you can see above in the "About the Book" description, they say Tess is too busy taking care of Aunt Susan... but in the actual book it is Aunt Kathy-->what?! Anyhow. Small manner, but it bugged me the rest of the day. After re-reading the description, I don't think the book reflects much struggle for Tess in keeping a balance between her job and caring for her aunt. Just my two cents.
Another GOOD thing about this book, is that it is Christian Suspense, but it's not cram-it-down-your-throat Christian. It has the subtle innuendos and occasional direct mentions of God and a relationship with Him, but not in your face... perfect for you to share with a friend who loves to read, but don'ts have a relationship with Christ.
So, for a good read, check out Scraps of Evidence and then pass it on to your friends!!
