WISDOMANTICS: AN INTERACTIVE DVD BOARD GAME (TV Plug & Play)
(For 2 to 4 players, ages 12 and up)

Wisdomantics–New King James Version (NKJV) is an interactive DVD board game for players of various faiths who desire to gain the vast wisdom of King Solomon. Wisdomantics-NKJV utilizes the proverbs of Solomon and blends chance, knowledge and strategy to create a fun experience while you learn! We are currently developing Wisdomantics-New International Version (NIV), a variation of the original game. This version of the Holy Bible is considered by some to be more mainstream and will allow us to reach a broader scope of consumers. The game’s intent is to bring individuals together to learn how to cope with numerous situations in a fun and relaxed environment.
 

Wisdomantics utilizes 2 DVDs which contain 400 multiple-choice questions/proverbs. There is a built-in variable timer which automatically adjusts for
1st, 2nd and final attempt questions. The DVD will grade your response and King Solomon will quote the proverb when you answer correctly. 
Finally, the DVD will instruct players when to draw a specialty card which will enable them to navigate the game board.
 

The game board illustrations chronicle Solomon’s life! They begin with his most notable acts and achievements and end with a divided kingdom through disobedience and rebellion. Hear King Solomon quote his wise biblical truths. The audio-visual element is a huge plus and adds greater depth to the game. Players may also strategize with specialty cards, which can skip or detain opponents, recover lost assets, and provide protection from adverse scenarios. To replicate Solomon’s temple, players receive colored tiles (gold, cypress and cedar) as they navigate the game board. The first player to complete their Solomon’s temple scorecard wins!

My Review:

My family sat down to play this game tonight.  It's for 2-4 players and there are 7 of us in our family.  Tonight the oldest 4 sat down to play and the others went away or watched. :)  In theory, you could play as teams with bigger groups, I think that would work.

We pulled out all the parts and pieces.  The game box includes:

50 Advancement Cards                                     1 Game Board

1 Question Card                                                1 Tile Holder Tray & 132 Colored Tiles

4 Scorecards

4 Custom Game Tokens(Angel, Cross, Dove and Ten Commandments)

After setting the game up and reading through the instructions, we decided to dive right in to the game.  

Now, my husband is a pastor... so, we've been in church a LOT and read the Bible a lot and taught Scriptures to our children... and we actually did pretty well answering the questions.  

There were some verses we didn't know (maybe my husband did, but he wasn't helping us out on our turns).  So, we were actually able to try out the "second attempt," "third attempt," and "final attempt" options.  The daughter that is in the pictures won the game... it did last around 40 minutes (which might be a little long for younger kids, but the game is for 12years and older).  

There were parts of the game that were fun (some of the Advancement cards had options for "Passover" which was essentially a skip card, and "Restoration" which allowed the holder of the card to take blessing cards and color tiles from other players and then there were "Miracle Cards" which gave you three gold tiles and three blessing cards).  The game was fairly easy to understand and play, most of the questions were easy enough.  

There we're also parts of the game that weren't so fun.  The video made the game seem SO long and drawn out.    Also, my children haven't been brought up with the NKJV... they have been brought up with NIV, so that was interesting, but not overly hard.  

I think I misunderstood the game before I got it.  I thought it was going to be more of a Bible Trivia Game, not just a Proverbs/Solomon trivia game.  

So, I think this is a good game, just not a good fit for my family. :)  It would be great for Homeschoolers who are trying to emphasize the Proverbs in the Bible Class.  Or even someone that reads/learns from the New King James Version of the Bible.
