Patton (The Generals) by Agostino von Hassell

For those who are interested in learning more about General George S. Patton without getting bogged down with too many facts, Patton: The Pursuit of Destiny is a must read. It is obvious from the beginning of the book that the authors of the book are fans of the 1970 movie that had George C. Scott portray the controversial war hero of WWII.

While General Omar Bradley is mentioned throughout the book, the authors point out his undue influence upon the movie by his role as a technical adviser.  The authors also delve into Patton's personal life with his wife and family allowing for a wider breadth of understanding of the famous general as a man.  Despite some brokeness of thought, by virture of mutual authorship, there is a general flow of concepts that allow the reader to come to a more wholistic understanding of General Patton.

In all, it was worth the read and I would recommend it.
